4/13/2018 Lady Jays soccer scores five second-half goals in 8-2 win at Battle

COLUMBIA — The Jefferson City Lady Jays took the lead late in the first half and pulled away in the second half to defeat the Battle Spartans 8-2 on Thursday.

The Lady Jays took a 3-2 lead at halftime on a goal by Daelynn Scheulen.

Halle Bohlken scored the first goal of the game for a 1-0 Lady Jays lead. After Battle scored two goals in an eight-minute span, Sasha Campbell tied it at 2.

Morgan Jordan, Kaitlyn Schwandtner, Lexi Acock, Bohlken and Taylor Cook each scored in the second half.

Jefferson City (3-6) will play in the Kickapoo Tournament on Friday and Saturday in Springfield.

Jefferson City won the JV game 6-0.

Jadyn Pierce scored two goals to lead the Lady Jays. Kennedy Fischer, Anna Spalding, Nina Matfield and Marina Azar each scored one goal.
